The average victim spends 30 hours resolving their ID theft problems, total each year American spend 297 million hours resolving their ID theft problems.

To help keep your identity on maximum security during tax season, follow these five rules:

1. If you file your return electronically, do so with an authorized e-file partner of the IRS.

2. Encrypt copies you keep on your computer.

3. Make sure your Internet security is up-to-date.

4. Turn off all sharing services.

Atronic Receives New Awards and Achievements

This year at the International Security Conference (ISC) West in Las Vegas, Todd Harrison and Neil Atha represented Atronic Alarms to receive for the first time the Honeywell Dealer of the Year Second Place in Dodger's Group Award.

Atronic was also given the recognition as a Panasonic I-Pro Gold Dealer and was a finalist (top three) in the nationwide SAMMY's Dealer of the Year and Best Newsletter category. Atronic has been a finalist in the SAMMY Award program for the last 3 consecutive years.

When Lightening Strikes it May Damage Alarm Panel

The numerous thunderstorms that are produced each spring usually have many lightening strikes. If lightening hits your property, it will more than likely damage electronics such as computers, answering machines, televisions and even security panels.

Many times our clients have had more service calls and false alarms after lightening has hit their property. This is the reason Atronic Alarms started a policy on lightening damage many years ago. Since a security and fire system are both life safety devices Atronic recommends replacing all powered devices after a lightening strike, helping the system perform as designed. Most insurance carriers understand this and agree to replace the needed items.

Atronic Alarms does sell a surge kit for alarm panels which helps protect the phone line into the panel as well as the electrical. However, it does not prevent lightening from entering the panel through a device such as a keypad or siren.

If you experience a hit or surge to the system, it may cause the phone line to go into "trouble" condition. Go to your alarm panel and "power it down" by disconnecting the battery and the transformer. Neil Atha Joins Atronic Alarms as Vice President

MARCH 4, 2011 (Lenexa, KS): In January Neil Atha joined Atronic Alarms, Inc in Lenexa, Kansas as vice president of the 29-year-old company.

Neil graduated from SMU in Dallas, Texas in 2007 with a degree in Economics with an emphasis in Financial Applications. He joins Atronic having worked three years in the Dallas, Texas as a regional account manager for a national security integrator.

5 Tips for Reducing False Alarms

#1. Clean out your smoke detectors. Winter spiders, cobwebs and dust can falsely set off your smoke detectors. Put your panel on test and “blow” out the dust with a can of air.

#2. Make sure plants are not in range of any motion detectors when your vents kick on. Also, floating balloons, fans or electric heaters may activate your motion detectors.
